The primary purpose for a Trapeze is to help assist patients position themselves in the bed. They can also assist people in shifting from the bed to another surface like a Wheelchair or with getting in and out of bed. Overall they give the user a sense of stability and further assistance while getting in and out of bed. The height is adjustable and the handbar can be moved, so that you can make the necessary adjustments as it works best for you.
The trapezes that we provide come in two different ways:
- Trapeze Bars: They attach to the bed at the head of the Hospital bed. The user can grab the bar to pull themselves up while repositioning in bed. These are useful because of their small size.
- Free-Standing Trapeze: They have a higher weight capacity. Not only are they good for changing positions while they are in the bed, but they are also useful for helping the user transition to a source outside of the bed. Free-Standing Trapezes can be used with Hospital Beds or Non-Medical Beds. Bariatric Free-Standing Trapezes are also available.
